KrisEnergy Ltd. is an independent upstream company focused on the exploration for and the development and production of oil and gas in Southeast Asia. Our strategy is to acquire asset in Countries and basins where our technical team has expertise derived from decade of experience.
In Cambodia, KrisEnergy has been a partner of the offshore Block A since 2010 and in 2014 we took over as the operator of the Block. Cambodia Block A covers an area of 4,709 sq km in the Gulf of Thailand over the Khmer Basin, approximately 150 km offshore Cambodia where water depths range between 50 and 80 metres.
KrisEnergy, its partners and the various government authorities have agreed the development concept for the first phase of the Apsara oil field.
In November 2016 the Cambodian Government approved the transfer and assignment of 28.5% and 14.25% working interest in Cambodia Block A from Mitsui Oil Exploration Co. Ltd and GS Energy Corporation, respectively, to KrisEnergy. The Cambodian Ministry of Mines and Energy (the successor agency to the Cambodian National Petroleum Authority) intends to exercise its right to acquire a 5% working interest in Cambodia, which when completed will reduce KrisEnergy’s combined holdings to 95%.
