The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training (MoLVT) has issued a notification, dated on 08 April 2024 on Implementation of holidays in the Khmer New Year.
In accordance with the Labor Law and Prakas No. 014/24 KOR / PRKR dated 16 January 2024, on the paid holiday of the Khmer New Year allow all their employees to take paid leave on the occasion for a period of 4 days, from 13th April until 16th April 2024. In case of the agreement between the concerned employees and employers or as stated in the internal regulations of the enterprise, establishment or collective agreement, the workers’ leave may be applied at any time other than the holidays as defined in Prakas No. 014 / 24 ក. ក. ប / ប្រ ក.
For enterprises, establishments where the business object is of a global nature, it must be carried out regularly and indefinitely, and the holidays of all employees at the same time endanger the public or cause harm. The operation of the enterprise, the owner or director of the enterprise must arrange for the employees to take time off on each holiday, taking turns. If this shift is not able to support the business operation of the enterprise, the owner or director of the enterprise and the employees’ representatives can discuss and agree for the employees to work on this holiday and arrange for a replacement holiday. At any other time. The owner or director of the establishment must prepare a list of employees who must take time off on each of the above dates and keep it regularly for inspection by the Labor Inspector. The Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training strongly hopes that all owners or directors of enterprises, establishments and employees will participate in implementing this notice effectively.
