The Ministry of Economy and Finance has announced Prakas on the Exemption of Special Tax on Domestic Cement Manufacturer as a State Burden.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance has announced Prakas on the Exemption of Special Tax on Domestic Cement Manufacturer as a State Burden.

This initiative aims to support the domestic cement industry by exempting domestic cement manufacturer from the 5% special tax by considering it as a state burden. The exemption will be in effect for 2 years starting from 2025 until the end of 2026.

The Prakas also outlines several requirements for the domestic cement manufacturer including filing monthly and annual tax declaration in e-Filing system of GDT, maintain proper accounting record to comply with tax regulation, and provide training and knowledge transfer to contribute to human resource development.

Additionally, cement manufacturer are responsible fulfilling other state obligations such as paying other taxes, royalties and social funds as well as submitting annual reports to MEF detailing costs, production capacity, use of raw materials, and involvement in social work.

This Prakas aim to further enhance the competitiveness and growth of the cement industry, ensuring the production of high quality and affordable cement to benefit Cambodian consumer and to also contributes to a favorable investment environment.
