University of Puthisastra

The University of Puthisastra (UP) is a private higher education institution in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, committed to excellence in health sciences and technology education. Established in 2007, UP has dedicated itself to fostering a community that embodies the values of excellence, integrity, tolerance, diversity, innovation, and service. Through comprehensive academic programs, dynamic exchanges, and robust international and local partnerships, UP equips its students with leadership qualities, enabling them to set professional standards in their respective fields.

Current Projects:
1. Research Initiatives: Aligned with the national research agenda 2025 and the Sustainable Development Goals 2015–2030, UP is deeply invested in interdisciplinary research. The university encourages both staff and students to engage in projects that address real-world challenges, particularly those pertinent to Cambodian society.
2. Community Practicum Programs: The Midwifery Department at UP has initiated community practicum programs, immersing students in real-world healthcare settings. These programs are designed to cultivate critical professional skills and confidence, preparing students to address the complexities of contemporary healthcare environments.
3. International Collaborations: UP actively seeks to expand its global footprint through discussions aimed at academic collaborations, including student exchange programs and joint research initiatives.

Forecasted Projects:
1. Digital Health Solutions: Recognizing the transformative potential of technology in healthcare, UP plans to integrate electronic health records (EHR) education into its curriculum. This initiative aims to prepare students for the evolving digital landscape of healthcare services, enhancing their competencies in managing patient data and improving communication among healthcare providers.
2. Expansion of Research Programs: Building upon its strong research foundation, UP intends to broaden its research programs to encompass emerging health challenges in Cambodia. This includes addressing issues related to universal health coverage and non-communicable diseases, thereby contributing to the nation’s healthcare development.
3. Strengthening International Partnerships: UP is committed to enhancing its international collaborations by formalizing agreements with institutions worldwide. These partnerships are expected to facilitate faculty and student exchanges, joint research projects, and the sharing of best practices in health sciences and technology education.

Through these initiatives, the University of Puthisastra continues to uphold its mission of creating and transferring knowledge through active learning, research, and social engagement, thereby contributing significantly to the advancement of healthcare and technology sectors in Cambodia and beyond.
