On 28th September 2021, the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training issued a Prakas on the 2022 Minimum wage for textile, garment, footwear, and travel products and bags manufacturers.
After various tripartite meeting, there is no consensus on any amount. Therefore the National Council of Minimum Wage conducted the voting in the meeting on 28th September 2021.
The result of the voting are:
– $188 got 0 votes out of 51
– $204 got 6 votes out of 51
– $192 got 45 votes out of 51
Therefore the National Council of Minimum Wage submit the $192 figure to H.E. Minister of Labour and Vocational Trainings to review and decide the 2022 Minimum wage for textile, garment, footwear, and travel products and bags manufacturers.
Due to the impact of the spread of COVID-19 on social-economic, public health and livelihood, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen decided to add $2 on the $192 figure.
Therefore, from 1st January 2022, the extile, garment, footwear, and travel products and bags workers will get $194 (for full Full-time worker) and $192 (for probationary workers).
