Statement on Distortion of Facts Related to CLV-DTA

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) has released a statement, dated on 15 August 2024 on Distortion of Facts Related to CLV-DTA.

The Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) has observed recent distortions by extremist opposition groups abroad regarding the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam Development Triangle Area (CLV-DTA). These groups have falsely accused the Royal Government of ceding four provinces or losing sovereignty over the northeastern provinces and have attempted to incite unrest and mobilize local demonstrations against the CLV-DTA.

All education staff, teachers, and students are advised that these attempts to demonstrate against the CLV-DTA are not genuine expressions of concern but are intended to incite unrest and use deceptive political tactics to overthrow the government. Such actions are a serious threat to social stability, national prosperity, and the peace enjoyed by the Cambodian people for four decades.

The Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport instructs all education staff, teachers, and students to refrain from engaging in these activities. They should trust the Royal Government, support the CLV-DTA, and join the Royal Government and authorities in maintaining peace, social stability, and the well-being of the Cambodian people throughout the country.
