Arne Gast is the McKinsey & Company leader of the Asia Pacific Organization Practice, based in Kuala Lumpur. His work focuses on creating organizations for the future, and making change happen in large transformations. As one of our most experienced functional experts, he has worked across many industries, including telecom, banks, insurance companies, healthcare, oil and gas, consumer goods and public sector. Over his nearly 20 years in McKinsey, he has worked and lived 8 years in Asia, and worked with Asian and multi-national clients across Malaysia, India, Indonesia, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Korea, Japan, Australia. Selected examples of his work include:

• Developing and delivering a top 400 leadership program for a pan-Asian insurance company, including business strategy, leading others, personal reflection and health

• Helping the shift to agile operating model in multiple Asian companies, including telecom, banking and oil and gas – including design of new people processes, organization structures, strategy mechanisms and leadership development.

• Developing the People Strategy for a leading Asian Bank, in a shared business/people strategy project, Assessing the Future of Work imperatives, critical HR initiatives, demands for the HR function.
• Revamping the People Strategy and the HR function and of leading South-east Asian bank, as part of their overall transformation. The focus was on future of work, talent to value, and HR role in agile transformation.

• Arne is the co-founder and CEO of Aberkyn (www.aberkyn.com), McKinsey’s special group of transformation facilitators. He is one of the lead facilitators of our Talent Leaders Forums and Change Leader Forums. He has written multiple McKQuarterly articles, is a sought after speaker on talent in Asia, and was part of the teams writing the books Blue Ocean Strategy, Beyond Performance and Reorg.
