On 20th May 2022, The Governement of Cambodia issued the notification to inform the republic regarding the temporary ban of alcohol sale and consumption one day before and on the day of Commune / Sangkat Election.
In accordance with the laws, regulations and procedures for the Commune / Sangkat Election, and to ensure the process of Commune / Sangkat Election 2022 is free, fair and non-violent, the decision was made to ban the sale and consumption of all kinds of alcohol one day before and on election day from 4-5 June 2022 to prevent violence, traffic accidents, and public disorder that can be caused by alcohol consumption.
