On 26th May 2020, the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training has released a notification on the allowance for employees/workers in garment and tourism industries who have been suspended from their employment during Covid-19 pandemic will be paid.
The allowance will be paid in Riel and depend on the employment contract as below:
- 60,750 Riel ($15) for suspending the employment contract from 7 days to 10 days
- 121,500 Riel ($30) for suspending the employment contract from 11 days to 20 days
- 162,000 Riel ($40) for suspending the employment contract from 21 days to 1 month
