On 21st January 2021, the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training issued a notification to inform the owners or Director of factories/enterprises and employees using Undetermined Duration Contract (UDC) that the payment of back pay seniority indemnity before 2019 and seniority indemnity for 2020 and 2021 shall resume in 2021 as follows:
1. Payment of back pay before 2019:
– Back pay seniority indemnity before 2019 (if any) to be paid in the 1st quarter and the 3rd quarter
– Back pay seniority indemnity before 2019 (if any) to be paid in the 2nd quarter and the 4th quarter
2. Payment of seniority indemnity:
– Seniority indemnity in 2020 shall be paid in the 1st quarter and the 3rd quarter
– Seniority indemnity in 2020 shall be paid in the 2nd quarter and the 4th quarter
3. Employees and employers can also negotiate the procedure and specific dates of the payment of the above seniority indemnities according to their factories/enterprises and business status.
